(May 18, 2017) We're thrilled! The Treatment Advocacy Center is one of seven finalists from a field of 35 candidates chosen to compete at the Psychiatry Innovation Lab in San Diego this weekend. The “Shark Tank”-style event kicks off the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) annual meeting on Sunday, May 21.
Each team of competitors will present a five-minute pitch of their innovative idea to transform mental healthcare before a panel of judges. Presenters will vie for $10,000 in prizes and various awards including the Grand Prize, Audience Choice, Most Promising Innovation and Impact.
John Snook, executive director, and Elizabeth Sinclair, research associate, will present Unleash Lightning in a Bottle: Using Queuing Theory to Solve a Mental Health Crisis, the Treatment Advocacy Center's innovative solution to help reduce mental illness behind bars.
