(Dec. 8, 2016) You told Congress it was time to finally fix our broken national mental health system. You told them that families couldn't wait for reform any longer. And they heard you. On Wednesday, the Senate voted to pass Mental Health Reform. Now the bill goes to President Obama for his signature!
By focusing on the treatment of severe mental illness, the bill will finally prioritize the needs of the most vulnerable Americans. It incorporates all of the Treatment Advocacy Center's priority issues to help those with mental illness and their families who are currently suffering with inefficient care at best, and repeated incarcerations, hospitalizations and suicide at worst.
